Air France Flight Takes Unexpected Stop You won’t believe what happened yesterday. I was just scrolling through my news feed when I saw it – an Air France flight from Paris to Detroit had to be diverted to Canada. Can you imagine? It seems like something out of a movie. Why the detour? Well, apparently, there was a passenger on board who shouldn’t have been there in the first place. This individual had recently visited the Congo and, according to new Department of Homeland Security rules, anyone from one of three specific African countries needs to enter the U.S. through Dulles. I mean, I get it, we’ve had our fair share of scares with Ebola, but man, diverting an entire flight? That’s a pretty extreme measure, don’t you think? I can’t even begin to imagine the chaos on board – passengers probably all panicking and wondering what’s going on. Thankfully, it seems like the authorities are taking this stuff seriously. But still, it feels a bit much. What if we end up with a world where every sneeze on a plane causes an emergency landing? That’s not going to be practical, right? Why this matters? I guess it’s a reminder of how seriously they’re taking health and security. It’s not every day you hear about a plane being turned around mid-air because of these rules. It’s also a bit of a wake-up call to be more aware of where we’re traveling and what the rules are, I suppose.
