Fox Bites Two in Orange County – What’s Up With That? Wow, you don’t hear about this every day. Got a bit of a shock when I read that a fox bit two people in Orange County on Friday, huh? According to the county’s animal services report, the incident happened in Chapel Hill around Erwin Road, not far from Kirkwood Drive and McGrew Drive. Jeez, that’s literally around the corner from me! So yeah, a fox. Not a dog, not a raccoon, but a fox. That’s… unexpected. It just goes to show you that anything can happen, right? I’ve seen foxes around, sure, but they’ve always struck me as more shy and skittish than anything. I mean, they’re usually more interested in avoiding you than bothering you. I wonder what set this fox off. Was it sick? Hungry? Or maybe just had a bad day? The county’s been informed and I guess they’ll figure it out. I’ve been hearing a lot about wildlife getting more bold lately, with urban areas expanding into their habitats. Is this just another sign of that? Anyhow, just a heads up for anyone in the area. Keep an eye out, especially if you’re walking alone or have small pets. Don’t want anyone else getting nipped!
